William Marion Petty

William Marion Petty, 88, of New Reading, died at his residence at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025. William was born May 22, 1937, in Newark, Ohio, the son of the late Warren and Myrtle Meek. He was a devoted husband of 50 years and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. William is survived by his children, William (Dianna) Petty Jr., Homer (Dawn) Petty, Karen (Brian) Williams; brothers, Dave and Robert Meek; grandchildren, Narci (Marcus) Zeek, Christopher (Elizabeth) Petty, Amelia Lane, Evelynne Petty, Tyanna (Alex) Craft, Analysse (Alex) Chambers, Nadya (Tyler Fields) Petty, Qwentyn (Gabriele Dabb) Petty, Jyllian Petty and Jacob (Emily Hinkle) Williams; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Jacqueline on June 29, 2016; a son, Bart Miller on November 29, 2021; grandson, Conrad Miller on May 4, 2019, brother, Maynard Meek, Jr. in January 1966; and sister, Margaret Meek in 1950. There will be a caring cremation at Bill’s request. A private family service will be held at a later date. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements.
