William Daley Jr. Obituary

William R. Daley Jr., 77, of Glassrock, formerly of Columbus, died at 8:23 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2020 at his residence. Bill was born February 9, 1943 in West Point, Kentucky, the son of the late William R. and Eula Anna Muss Daley. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Buckeye Lake. Bill was a Vietnam Era Navy veteran and served as a fuel specialist for Navy Blue Angels, and worked with Navy Pilots on T-28's. Bill met his wife of 55 years and love of his life while in the service. Bill and Sandra moved from the Columbus, Ohio area 40 years ago to their residence in Glassrock, Ohio. He retired after 30 years from General Motors. He loved farming, and the farm life and was a lifetime lover of Allis Chalmers Tractors. He was an avid hunter as well as an avid golfer and played in a Columbus league with his father-in-law Tony Delsandro. He also enjoyed golfing with his son Joe and his friends Todd Hogue, golfing buddy Tim Ryan, and brother Pete, as well as his grandsons, Anthony and Christian, whom he taught all they know about golf. Bill enjoyed being at Emerald Isle, NC with his children, grandchildren and friends. He loved Cracker Barrell, especially their pancakes! He loved Virginia Tech (for some reason, which none of us understand) and his Virginia Tech hat! Bill was an accomplished Journeyman of International Union United Automobile Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America. He was a 33rd Degree Master Mason of the Cambridge Valley Chapter and a member of the 13th Lodge of Somerset, Ohio.  Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Delsandro Daley of the home; his children, William Anthony Daley, Melissa Anna Maria Daley, Joseph Michael Daley and Jennifer Rose Daley and fiancé John Clark; four grandchildren, Anthony, Christian, Paige Elizabeth and Hannah Jo; six brothers, Jimmy, Charles, Marvin, Walter, Whitson and Mark; and two sisters, Barbara Sue and Fannie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Daley. Bill will be cremated at his request. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements. www.bopethomasfuneralhome.com
