Walter Robert “Bob” Murphy, 81, of Somerset, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his residence. Bob was born April 23, 1939 near Corning, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur A. and Maude V. (Martin) Murphy. He was a 1957 graduate of Corning High School and a member of Moxahala United Methodist Church. He was a retired truck driver. Bob is survived by three daughters, Robin (Kelly) Gross, Judy (Kim) Hamilton, and Julie (James) Thompson; two sons, Robert Steven Murphy and Patrick Arthur Murphy; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie (Pat) Sheline and Mary (Dave) Mannering. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Judith B. Murphy; two grandsons, Timmy and Jeremy; four sisters and two infant brothers. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
