Steven Eugene Snider

Steven Eugene Snider, 74, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away at 10:41 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Fairfield Medical Center. Steven was born September 1, 1951, in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph Bernard and Margaret Jane (Pletcher) Snider. He was a 1969 graduate of New Lexington High School where he was the soloist for their graduation ceremony, and a senior Homecoming escort. He worked in the offices of Anchor Hocking, Diamond Power, Bryants (United Technologies) and Cyril Scott Company where he retired in 2007 due to health problems. Steven sang in quartets, directed the church choir, performed in minstrels and variety shows, and served as soloist for more than 75 weddings in Perry, Fairfield, Licking and Franklin Counties. He is survived by one sister, Nancy Allen of Paducah, KY; one brother, Joey Lee Snider of Paducah, KY; a stepsister, Sandy Williams of Beckley, WV; and a stepbrother, Stephen Winegardner of Gahanna, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bette Winegardner Snider and his grandparents, Milford and Julia Pletcher, Homer and Nellie Snider Cannon, and step-grandfather, Arthur Cannon Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
