Speed Thomas Aliff, 78, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home after a short illness. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Speed was born on February 11, 1948, to the late Okey Earl and Nannie (Price) Aliff. He was a Military veteran who was honored with four medals. He retired from Ralston Foods, and was very devoted to his family, especially his children whom he always put before himself. Speed enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, classic cars, mechanics, music, played multiple instruments and enjoyed home cooked meals. He was a smart and serious man and had the instinct to know when to soften life with humor and kindness. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his children, Rhonda Lamp (son-in-law Robert Hollis), Nikki Aliff, Amber Fisher, Kimberly Aliff; siblings, Mattie Riddle, Elizabeth Curtis, Reba Dudgeon, Kathleen Toney, Dennis (Byrd) Aliff and Faustine Aliff. He was blessed and actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren, Thomas Lamp, Steven Lamp, Isabella D’aMato, Miranda Aliff, Noah Beach, Ivan Beach, Isaac Beach, Erin Fisher, Zarah Minor; and great grandchildren, Timothy Lamp and Nathan Lamp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Shane (Bud) Aliff, Aaron Aliff; siblings, Donald Aliff, Kitty Beck, Okey Earl Aliff, Jr., Milton Gilbert Aliff; and granddaughter, Gabriella D’aMato. A celebration of his life will be held privately, and he will be buried in the Aliff Family Cemetery in New Reading, Ohio.
