Shirley Marie (Kinser) Moyer was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021. Shirley was born December 17, 1935, to Joseph H. and Zillah M. Kinser of Baltimore, Ohio. Shirley was very outgoing and never knew a stranger. She loved talking with people and sharing stories. Whether greeting or parting, she always required a kiss on both cheeks to ensure she wasn’t lopsided. Her faith in Christ was very important to her and she openly shared this by saying “Remember God loves you and so do I” She was a member of the New Lexington Church of the Nazarene. Shirley worked for many years at Portsmouth General Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed helping people and continued to be a caregiver to family and friends throughout her life. She was also an avid artist, creating many sketches and paintings over the years. As she loved animals, especially dogs, one of her favorite paintings was of her dog, Buddy Boo. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Zillah Kinser; brothers, William R. Kinser, James L. Kinser, and Timothy P. Kinser; sister, Elizabeth A. (Kinser) Kimmel; and her husband, Cloyd “Gene” Moyer. She is survived by brothers, Joseph H. Kinser (Barb), Bruce D. Kinser (Roz), John E. Kinser (Irene), Paul B. Kinser (and Teresa Kinser); sisters-in-law, Cindy Kinser, Bev Kinser, and Sandra Jo (Kinser) Gobel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio 43783.
