On Sunday, November 21, 2021, Sharlene Kay Strosnider, 68, of Rushville, Ohio, passed away. A lifelong Ohio native, Sharlene was well-loved by those who knew her. She was a beloved wife and mother. Despite her large family, Sharlene always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Michael worked tirelessly to provide opportunities and support for their kids. She would proudly boast about all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at length, as she was so proud of the life and family that she built.
Sharlene was born August 5, 1953, in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of the late James F. and Gertrude B. (Taylor) Yarger. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lancaster and had spent her working years at Mirror Insulation and Mondi Akrosil, both in Lancaster. Sharlene enjoyed traveling in her retirement and would head to the beach as often as would allow.
Sharlene is survived by her husband of 47 1/2 years, Michael A. Strosnider; three daughters, Belinda (Jason) Balthaser of Amanda, Michelle Hanson of Lancaster, and Jodi Arehart of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, Austin, Alysa and Brent Strosnider, Micaela, Shelby, Amber and Summer Queen, and Isabella, Jacob and Joselyn Hanson; three step-grandchildren, Sarah, Sabrina, and Hunter Balthaser; and multiple great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Newell of Newark, and Sherry Brown of Rush, KY; sisters-in-law, Marlena (John) Rasor, Teresa Strosnider, Benita (Keith) Moore, and Dolores Holowell; brothers-in-law, Roger Strosnider, Shawn (Joyce) Strosnider, Brian Strosnider, and Greg Strosnider; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Yarger; two sisters, Margaret “Peg” Schweitzer and Georgia (Watt) Johnson; and her mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Marcella Strosnider.
