Scott Henry Patterson

Scott Henry Patterson, 81, of Avondale, formerly of Somerset and New Reading, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Genesis in Zanesville. Scott was born January 22, 1941, in New Reading, the son of the late John Howard and Marjorie Wyvette (Swick) Patterson. He was a self-employed truck driver for over 30 years and had also worked at the Six Mile Turn Auto Auction. Scott was an avid Steelers Fan, turkey hunter, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sheila A. (Centers) Patterson; four children, Kevin (Gini) Patterson of Oklahoma; Travis Patterson of Springfield, Ohio, Jason (Heather) Patterson of Mechanicsburg, Ohio and Angie (Rick) Veith of Cable, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Alex, Erica, Maddie, Tyler, Jaycie, Jaron, Jensen, Kaylor, Owen and Danica; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman “Bud” (Dorothy) Patterson and Bob (Barb) Patterson; one sister, Judy (Barry) First; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Bill, Don, Joe and John; and three sisters, Shirley, Norma, and Jane. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Somerset American Legion, 107 E. Gay St., Somerset, Ohio. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements.
