Sandy Allison Obituary

On May 17, 2025, Sandy Gale Allison (Powell) peacefully said goodbye to her cherished family and friends and gently crossed over into the loving arms of her Lord, where she was joyfully reunited with her heavenly family. After a long journey with Alzheimer's, Sandy was finally freed from its grasp, restored, and welcomed into perfect peace. Sandy was born on April 7, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, to Arbutus and Bradly Powell. Sandy, the youngest of four children, was the family's baby. With a fourteen-year gap between her and her siblings, she formed a special bond with her nieces and nephews, often sharing laughter and adventures. In high school at West Jefferson, Sandy's life was forever changed when she met Jeff Allison. His piercing blue eyes first caught her attention, and soon after, he captured her heart. They were married on August 25, 1979, in West Jefferson, Ohio, and together, they built a beautiful life centered around love, faith, and family. Their greatest joy was raising their four children: Nicole, Michael, Ashley, and Andrew. Sandy spent countless hours ensuring homework was complete, shuttling them to basketball practice, and being their biggest fan at ball games. Sandy's heart was always in service to others. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived out her beliefs daily, touching countless lives along the way. She poured her love into the children's ministry at church, read to elementary kids, or helped others in need. She gave her all with grace and joy. She approached each day with a spirit of adventure and resilience. Whether she was working at Magnetic Springs Bottled Water Company, sharing her quick wit at Anthony's Pizza, or simply navigating the ups and downs of daily life, Sandy's warmth and positivity were a beacon to all who knew her. Above all, Sandy's deepest love was for her family - her devoted husband, her children, her precious grandchildren, and, of course, her beloved dog, Maddie, who was always by her side. Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She's survived by her beloved husband Jeff; her children Nicole (Chelsie), Michael (Brittny), Ashley (Skylar), and Andrew (Lauren); her grandchildren Alex, Korbin, Jaxon, Peyton, Olivia, Paisley, Spencer, and Theodore; her sister Rosie Yokum; her brothers Jimmy (Gloria) and Roger (Cheryl); her sister-in-law Patty Goforth; her dear mother-in-law Beverly Allison; and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She is reunited in heaven with her loving parents, Arbutus and Bradly, her father-in-law Jim Allison, brother Edward Goforth, niece Karen Poole, and brother-in-law Ed Yokum. Thank you to the FairHope Hospice team and the Pickering House team. The family would also like to especially thank Chelsea, Beth, and Sherri, who cared for Sandy with such compassion and kindness. Your support brought peace and comfort to her and our family, and we are forever grateful for the love and dignity you showed her. Sandy's life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering devotion. We are heartbroken to say goodbye but rejoice knowing she has heard the words: "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23).
