Sandra Jean “Sandy” (Greuey) Henery, 77, of Somerset, Ohio, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with dementia. She was born April 15, 1948, in Portersville, Ohio, to the late Bernard Greuey and Ruby (Kronenbitter) Greuey Omen. Sandy was a graduate of Crooksville High School. She was an excellent cook, baker, and homemaker, as well as a talented seamstress, crocheter, and gardener. She enjoyed reading, country music, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As her children grew older, she worked many jobs to supplement her family income; the job closest to her heart was working at the Somerset Learning Center, as she loved working with children. Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jim Henery, whom she married on June 6, 1966; her children, Jeff (Shelly) Henery, Jerry Henery, Rita (Brian) Severance, and Renee Henery; her grandchildren, Lucas Severance, Shane Severance, Drew Henery, Bethany (Thomas) Green, and Meredith Henery; her siblings, Don (Ann) Greuey and Linda Swinehart; her brother-in-law, Bob Watts; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Ann Watts, Marlene Allen, and Jack “Dick” (Wanda) Greuey; her brother-in-law, Dwayne Swinehart; her nephews, Butch Greuey and Tony Greuey; and her niece, Kathy Sue Watts. Family and friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Henery officiating. Sandy will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Somerset.
