Ruth (Turner) Klingler, 86, of Thornville, formerly of Junction City, went to be with the Lord under the care of Central Ohio Hospice at the Ohio State University Hospital on March 25, 2021.
Ruth was born August 21, 1934 in Harrisonville (Meigs County), the daughter of the late Kenneth and Gladys (Helser) Turner. She grew up in Glenford and attended elementary and high school there. In 1951, she married the love of her life, the late Hobert L. Klingler from Junction City.
Ruth was an avid gardener and loved to spend her summers planting and tending to her garden and canning the fruits of her labors in late summer. She truly missed her gardening time when her health declined. Before her health kept her from it, Ruth spent much of her time taking care of elderly family members and neighbors. She also had worked for Sanese Vending Services for several years.
Ruth left behind two children, Jeffrey (Rose Storts) Klingler of Junction City and Sharon (Bill) Chaffin of Thornville; two grandchildren, Clayton Chaffin and Audra Chaffin of Thornville; brother, Richard “Dick” Turner of Somerset; sisters, Carol Hammer of Oak Hill and Linda (Larry) Hammond of New Lexington; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hobert Klingler (2009); her brother, Robert “Bob” Turner of Newark; and her sister, Connie Conner of Zanesville.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Community Gardens with Pastor David Helser officiating.
