Robert Lloyd Wilson, 90, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Thornville Altercare. A native of Somerset, Ohio, Bob was born on October 7, 1935, to the late Lloyd and Grace (Green) Wilson. A 1953 graduate of Holy Trinity High School, Bob earned the distinction of being Salutatorian of his graduating class. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon retiring to Somerset, he married the love of his life, Hannah K. (Emmert) Wilson on October 17, 1959. During their 65-year marriage they raised four children, Jill (Tom) Sullivan, Jack (Robin) Wilson, Joe (Vickie) Wilson, and Julie Wilson Kilbarger. In all aspects of his life, Bob was a very talented and versatile man. He sold life insurance for Western and Southern, then started a business with longtime friend, Jack Rhodes (Wilson and Rhodes) where they built custom homes in and around the Somerset area. He utilized those skills at Holy Trinity Church and School and then continued his career with the CSX Railroad where he built tunnels and bridges. His attention to safety and detail earned him much respect in his careers. In later years, he and Hannah started their own woodcraft business. Bob was also a committed volunteer for his church and his community. A proud member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, Bob also was elected as captain on the Somerset-Reading Twp. Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 16 years. Bob was a lifetime supporter of Right to Life, was devoted to praying the Rosary daily and faithfully attending Sunday Mass. His faith sustained throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was an example of what a loyal, giving, faithful and selfless husband and father looked like. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah; his parents; his sisters, Helen Weiland and Dorothy Snider. He is survived in addition to his children, by his grandchildren, Michael Sullivan, Codie (Emily) Wilson, Cade (Kelsey) Wilson, Colton (Natalie) Wilson, Jodie (Aaron) Fromm, Joey, Jordan and Jacob Wilson, Kyle (Jenn) Kilbarger, Andrew Kilbarger and Claire Kilbarger; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kaedan Fromm, Otto and Leo Wilson, Margot and August Wilson; siblings, Betty (Wayne) Garey, Rosie (Mike) Garey, and Debbie Kimball (Jim Rennick); brothers-in-law, Tommy (Eileen) Emmert, Tim Emmert (Karen Hess); and nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where the Rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with celebrant Fr.
