Robert Christopher Funk Sr.

Early to bed, early to rise. Fish all day, make up lies. Robert Christopher Funk Sr., age 64, of Cardington, Ohio, went to meet his savior on July 10, 2024. He went peacefully in his home with family by his side. Chris was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 10, 1960, to Minnie and Bob Funk. He was a lover of his family and friends and would do just about anything in his power to make sure they knew he loved them. Everyone had a nickname given to them that came from the depth of his heart. He started his plumbing career in 1978 with Water Works and finished with them in 2008 after 30 years of service. His free time was spent doing his favorite activities which included fishing and hunting. He fished in multiple tournaments gaining himself multiple plaques and amazing memories with his favorite people. Hunting on his property won him many beautiful bucks and the opportunity to teach his children his love of the outdoors. Chris is preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Joseph Funk, his mother, Minnie Funk, brother, James Russell Booth, sister, Karen Lynn Reaper, and brother, Edward Joseph Funk. Chris’ memory will stay alive by his fiancé, Carolyn Cramer; son, Robert Christopher Jr. (Linsey) Funk; son, Wade Funk; sisters, Trish (Bob) Skinner, Nancy (Thom) Gariepy, Barbara (Anthony) Turner, and all of his grandchildren, Jade, Madelynn, Caden, McKayla, London, Layne, Jaelynn, Jayden, McKenna, Jackson, and Brookelynn. Thank you to Bob, Trish, and Carolyn for the countless hours spent taking care of Chris all the way to the end. We could never express the amount of gratitude we have for all that you have done. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset, Ohio. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Community Gardens, New Lexington, Ohio with Jenny Gravely officiating.
