Robert Alva “Bob” Taylor, 79, of Somerset, Ohio, succumbed to brain cancer on June 7, 2022. Bob was a professional sheep shearer until cancer overwhelmed him. He was a long-time employee of Mid-States Wool Growers and Columbus Dispatch Delivery. Bob was very involved in the Ohio State Fair in the sheep shearing and wool departments. He is survived by a son, Justin and Darcy (Williams) Taylor; granddaughters, Piper and Paisley, all of Somerset; daughters, Christy and Scott O’Conner, Tammy and Mike Zeller and their families of Orient, Ohio; sisters, Marilyn (Schemrich) Wright, Joan Eyerman and Virginia Yors; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Edna (Wade) Taylor; and his wife, Penny (Prindle) Taylor. A memorial gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, with a toast and sharing of memories at 2:00 p.m. at the Lions Club Shelter House (next to the Somerset Pool), Somerset Memorial Park, 300 Dr. Mike Clouse Drive, Somerset, Ohio.
