Richard L. “Dik” Toth, 80, of Howard, Ohio and of Somerset, died peacefully Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was blessed to spend the last couple years of this life under the loving care of his daughter at her home.
Dik was born October 3, 1940, in Congo, Ohio, the son of the late Steve V. and Helen L. (Harayda) Toth. He was a 1958 graduate of Corning High School, where he participated in several activities, including baseball, class play, newspaper and yearbook. He worked for more than 40 years in the banking industry. Dik loved to read and was a longtime fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his son, Steve Toth, and daughter-in-law, Micki McQuate, of Columbus; daughter, Shari Toth, and son-in-law, Michael Westerheide, of Howard; and a granddaughter, Lilli Toth, of Columbus. In addition to his parents, Dik is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lois M. (Smith) Toth, who died in 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, in New Lexington Cemetery with Eric Riffle officiating.
