Richard E. “Dick” Adcock, 81, of Lancaster, formerly of Somerset, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023.
Dick was born September 13, 1941, in Junction City, Ohio to the late Willis S. and Helen M. (McCormick) Adcock. He was a 1959 graduate of Junction City High School and a 1963 graduate of Ohio University. He served two years in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. Dick was employed at National City Bank for 40 years. His last position was area president for Lawrence and Jackson Counties. He served as Director of Lawrence County Economics Development Corporation, as well as president of Lawrence County Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dick was a member of the Somerset United Methodist Church as well as the Kiwanis, Rotary, and the Somerset Lions Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather L. Adcock; his son, Todd M. Adcock; sister, Nancy E. Johnson; sisters-in-law, Bettie Adcock, and Betty Tucker; brother-in-law, John McGaughey, Jr.; and son-in-law, William Weber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy R. (McGaughey) Adcock (1995); daughter, Elizabeth A. (Adcock) Weber (2014); a brother, Kenneth R. Adcock; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Johnson and Gene Poling; and sisters-in-law, Esther Poling and Judy McGaughey.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Junction City with Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 providing military honors.
