Rebecca “Becky” Sue Cotterman age 69 of Somerset, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 3, 1954.
Becky was a self-professed hippie. She loved her family and friends with fervor. She was a Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend and “Memaw” extraordinaire. She adored the Moon and the Stars. She embodied peace and love and spread both to every person she met. She was very kind and nurturing. She was also silly and slightly mischievous, strong but full of whimsy. She was unapologetically and loudly herself in a world that prefers quiet conformity. She loved music, particularly Todd Rundgren and numerous 70’s bands. Her love of birds and nature was undeniable and the joy that she received from them fed her soul.
Her laugh will continue to echo and her smile will always shine down on us, radiant and full of joy, begging us to have fun with the time we’re gifted on this Earth. Let her memory guide us all to be kinder, laugh more, love without fear and be our most authentic self. Her legacy lives on through the moons and stars, beehives, gardens, fairies, crystals, rainbows and the many lessons she taught us along the way.
Becky passed away peacefully, in the forever home that Devon and she built, in Somerset Ohio.
Becky is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Devon, Shelly, Alex, Amara and Sebastian Perez, Mike, Susan, Zander and Penelope Cotterman, her neighborhood furry friend “Glory”, her sisters Denise and Sally, her daughter Patricia (PJ) Rogers and many extended family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Life will happen at a later date in the spring.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bope-Thomas Funeral home, Somerset, Ohio.
