Reba Lee (Powell) Swinehart

Reba Lee Swinehart, 94, of Glenford, Ohio, passed away at 11:07 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Altercare of Thornville. Reba was born March 13, 1928, in Newark, Ohio to the late William and Ollie (Vanallen) Powell. She was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden, Ohio and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Glenford since 1946. Reba was married to Carl “Swiney” Swinehart on September 21, 1946, in Dresden, Ohio. They were married for 61 years. Reba loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. Her favorite sports were basketball and baseball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Bob Souders of Glenford; five grandchildren, Wendy Abram, Brandy Hupp, Chad, Chris and Nicole Swinehart; ten great grandchildren, Colton, Ava, Addison, Aubrey, Stephanie, Latasha, Spencer, Cody, Raine, and Nova Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, Terry Swinehart; eight siblings, Estella Seyerle, Fred Powell, Agnes Swinehart, Robert Powell, James Powell, Bonnie Biller, Daisy Varner and Betty Kasson; and her dogs, Toby and Buttons. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glenford, Ohio where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating.
