Rachel A. (Bright) Young

Rachel A. Young 76 of Thornville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. She was born on June 23, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Garland and Esther Bright.

She is survived by her son, Doug (Serena) Whited of Coggon, Iowa; grandson, Clayton Whited; sisters, Betty Hammil, Joan (John) Smith, Patty Bright, and Jean (Jim) Thornton; brothers, Lewis Bright, Jim (Bev) Bright, Charlie Bright, John (Toni) Bright and Bob Harman and many nieces and nephews.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Don L. Young, parents, and a brother, Garland “George” Bright.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, Somerset, Ohio with Pastor Kenneth Teter officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
