Pearl J. (Rucker) Bussey, 94, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at her residence. Pearl was born October 19, 1928, in East Fultonham, Ohio, the daughter of the late William E. and Carrie S. (Vickers) Rucker. She was united in marriage to William A. Bussey, Sr. on September 11, 1948. Pearl was a woman of faith and family. She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church in Fultonham where she served as the pianist for several years. She was an employee of the former Hill’s Market. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Bell of Plain City and Kerri (Brian) Rhodes of Somerset; two sons, William (Robin) Bussey, Jr. of Chillicothe and D. Robert Bussey of Somerset; grandchildren, Chad, Wendy, Samantha, Jay, Brooke, Tiffany, Tyler and Evan; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Bussey, Sr.; one daughter, Debra Altier; son-in-law, Robert Bell; grandson, Eric Bussey; and brothers, Bill, Roy and Fredrick “Buck” Rucker. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Pearl’s caregivers Candy, Flo, Wanda, and daughters Kerri and Cindy for their dedication to Pearl’s care. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
