Paul Caroll Lewis

Paul Caroll Lewis, 83, of Thornville and Buckeye Lake, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Somerset Altercare following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Paul was born July 2, 1937 In Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence Lewis and Doris Leslein Lewis Dambaugh. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He retired after 30 years from Duff Truck Lines. Paul loved to be busy and worked for Buckeye Beach Marina for many years. He loved life, golf, NASCAR, Buckeye’s sports, and loved to visit with people-never meeting a stranger. Paul is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 25 years, Helen J. Lombardo Lewis of New Lexington; children, Andy (Rhonda) Lewis, Tracy (Steven) Holloway, Teresa (Rick) Hernandez, Monica Lewis Scott; a step-daughter, Heidi Riggs; grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Holloway, Zachary, Nathaniel and Hailey Hernandez, Lilly and Dayne Scott, Jessica Lewis; step-grandchildren, Sarah and Shane Spence and Nicholas (Meltem) Riggs; one great-granddaughter, Gabi Lewis, and one on the way; one sister, Joanne V. Lewis Thomas who was loving and generous throughout his life; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Cooper Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one stepson, Shawn Spence; one step-granddaughter, Marin Riggs; two brothers, Clifford Ray Lewis and Charles Clarence Lewis; and his stepfather, Harry “Pete” Dambaugh. The family would like to thank Somerset Altercare for their special care of Paul, and a special aide, Megan Price for her over and above loving care of Paul. There will be a caring cremation at Paul’s request. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Father Dwayne McNew officiating.
