It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrick O’Neal Snider, who left this world on Friday, April 18, 2025. Born on June 9, 1971, in Sistersville, West Virginia, Patrick lit up every room he walked in with his boisterous laugh, ornery jokes and love for all family and friends. Patrick grew up in Sistersville, where he graduated from Sistersville High School as a proud member of the Class of 1990. His work ethic was unmatched, and he dedicated many years of his professional life to McGraw Hill/Fed Ex Supply Chain before retiring. Those who had the privilege of working alongside him knew him as a hardworking individual who always brought light and laughter into the workplace. There are too many friends he made to name, and we don’t want anyone left out, you know who you are, and you know that you were loved. Patrick is survived by his loving mother, Lillie Carter, and his devoted siblings, Missy Snider (Tom Neff), Jenny (Chad) Bruner, and Jodie Yost. He was a loving father to his son, Brandon (Lydie) Snider, and cherished his significant other, Megan Wright and her daughter Marlie Wright. Patrick’s legacy continues through his grandchildren; Breekia, Charlotte, Emory, and Thomas; his nieces, Stephanie (Nick) Fullmer and Makayla Clegg; nephews, Aaron (Deidra) Fuller, Justin and Anthony Fuller along with more great nieces and nephews. Sandi (Herb) McEwon, Rick (Mary) Shephard, and Connie (Everett) Harris, who were all additional parent figures to Patrick, were all loved and respected to the highest extent. He was preceded in death by his beloved fathers, William Carter and Melvin Snider, and his cherished grandparents, John (Lenora) Snider. Patrick’s passing is also preceded by his dearest friends, David Watson and Donald Cline. The bonds Patrick forged throughout his life are irreplaceable. He was blessed with an incredible circle of friends, “The Best Friends a guy could ask for,” including James Watson, Matt Shaeffer, Chris Walker, Jason Kidd, Kim Freet, Nate Mack, Phil Harlan, Sean Morris, PW Shaeffer, and Ryan Vaughn. They, along with many other friends and family, will forever remember his loyalty, infectious laughter, and the unwavering support he offered. Patrick’s final days were made more comfortable thanks to the compassionate care provided by FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as the skilled staff at OSU-The James and FMC, to whom the family extends their heartfelt gratitude. In lieu of flowers or cards, we kindly ask that donations be made to FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care in Patrick’s memory. In honoring Patrick’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, there will be a Celebration of life, time and date TBD. A very special thank you goes out to The Backwoods and everyone involved in organizing Patrick’s benefit, which truly exemplified the love and respect he cultivated during his life. Patrick O’Neal Snider will forever be remembered for his loyalty, hard work, the green weenie, and the joy he brought into the lives of countless friends and family members. His spirit will continue to shine brightly through every life he touched.
