Patrick Scott Henery, 76, of Somerset, passed away at 10:23 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at his residence. Pat was born March 16, 1949, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late Elmer Donald and Margaret C. “Peg” (Green) Henery. He was a 1967 graduate of St. Alloysius Academy in New Lexington and a Vietnam Air Force veteran. Pat was a member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, where he was a past Commander and current trustee and served on the firing squad, served on the board of the Perry County Veteran’s Service Office, and a retired member of the Somerset/Reading Twp. Fire Dept. Pat was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Cemetery Association. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, along with Holy Trinity basketball in his younger days. Pat enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada with his fishing buddies where there was never a dull moment and visiting with his group of friends who gathered at the Duke Station every morning. Pat and Bev loved to travel with their friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beverly R. (Sanders) Henery, whom he married March 15, 1975; one son, Anthony J. Shipley of the home; one granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Shipley; one great-granddaughter, Oaklynn L. Jones; one brother, Tom Henery of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Craig Axline; a sister-in-law, Harriett (Raymond) Garey; nine nieces and nephews, Dawn, Derek, Drew, Colt, Bob, Shelle, Dan, Heidi and Ben; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Henery; his sister, Beth Ann Axline; and a brother-in-law, John Sanders. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the Somerset American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity School, 225 S.
