Patricia J. (Hillis) Green

Patricia J. Green, 91, of Somerset, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home in Somerset after a brief illness. She was born Monday, November 29, 1926 in Moxahala, Ohio, the daughter of Ambrose Hillis and Jenny (McGonagle) Hillis. She was married on Saturday, August 4, 1945 to Leo Thomas Green who preceded her in death on Wednesday, October 27, 1982. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Somerset. Patricia retired after 31 years public service working for the Perry County Engineers and Treasurer. She was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Perry County Democratic Party and a member of the Nightingale CCL Mother’s Club and the Board of Elections for 40 years, retiring in 1997. Her favorite joys in life were spending time with her family and shopping. She is survived by three daughters, Terri (Roger West) Green of New Lexington, Toni (David) Wilson and Tammie (William) Parker all of Somerset; three sons, Timothy (Debbie) Green, Ted (Kimberly) Green and Tod (Carol) Green all of Somerset, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Patrick Green, one daughter, Tina Nash; two grandsons, Nathan and Shawn Nash; six brothers and sisters, Loren E. “Doc” (Sally) Hillis, Mary Louise (Leo) McLoughlin, Paul (Mary Ellen) Hillis, Hellen (Herb) Davis, Agnes Regina Miller (Frank) Flautt, and Eleanor Parsons Montgomery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 5757 St. Rt. 383, Somerset, Ohio with Fr. Carmody, O.P. as celebrant.
