Noel E. Dupler

Noel E. Dupler, 89, of Somerset, died at Fairfield Medical Center on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. from complications from a fall. Noel was born July 20, 1935, in Clayton Twp., Somerset Ohio, the son of the late Oscar H. and Eunice (Guest) Dupler. He was a 1953 graduate of Somerset High School and a Korean Conflict Air Force veteran. Noel was a lifetime member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58; a past member of the Public Board of Affairs for 18 years, and past member of the Somerset Memorial Park Board for 15 years. He had been serving on the New Reading Cemetery Board for several years. Noel was employed as an electrician by Central Silica, now known as Oglebay Norton for 32 ½ years and served as Secretary for Local 191 for 27 of those years. He is survived by his daughter, Penny and Larry Poling of Junction City; a step son, Ed Coble of Somerset; a step daughter Sharon Coble of Somerset; 10 grandchildren; Erin Poling; Krystal (Grant) Brame; Emily (Brandon) Thomas; Trent (Shannon) Coble; Danyel ( Bruce) Habig; Josh (Heidi) Coble; Stephanie (Bruce) Sands; Jody (Tim) Severance; Arica (Rusty) Reeves; Heidi (Aaron) Gard, 25 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris I. Dupler (2003); a brother, Rodney, sister-in-law Norma Dupler; step daughter-in-law Charla Coble; and a nephew Robin Dupler. At Noel’s request there will be a caring cremation. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday March 1, 2025, with a memorial service to follow at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset with Pastor John Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in New Reading Cemetery. The Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 will provide graveside military honors.
