Millard J. Lonkey, 89, of Somerset, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at his residence. Millard was born September 13, 1931 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Millard W. and Lenore Miller Lonkey. He was a member of the Evans Police Dept for 35 years, Evans Volunteer Fire Dept., VFW, American Legion, Holy Ark Masons, and was a retired Coast Guard Reserve. Millard is survived by a daughter, Julia L. Lonkey; a daughter-in-law, Tina Lonkey; grandchildren, Ryan (Angela) Thum, Marc (Michelle) Thum, John Thum, James P. (Emily) Crouse, Adam (Kerri) Lonkey, and Kelly (Christina) Lonkey; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Cory, Zach, Jordan, Makaela, Levi, Lexi, Delaney, Ashley, Kassie, Kolsyn, Isabell, Brandon, Parker and Wyatt; and five great-great-grandchildren and a brother, James Lonkey; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Lonkey and Carol Braeges; a nephew, Brant Braeges, great-granddaughter, Jessice Rae Thum; and grandson, Chase Riegel. Millard was cremated at his request. The family will have a private service at their home. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements.
