Mildred Dupler Obituary

Mildred Lucille Dupler, 84, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Altercare of Thornville surrounded by her loving family. Mid was born January 25, 1936 in Somerset to the late Perry and Faye (Drumm) VanSickle. She graduated in 1953 from Somerset High School as Valedictorian and was also the first person to attend 12 years of school without missing a day. After graduation, she worked for Perry County Farm Bureau for 3½ years. She then attended Capitol Beauty School and worked for a short time in Newark. On August 1, 1958, she married Robert Dupler and was a stay-at- home mom for 12 years. From 1970 until they closed in 1981 she worked for Perry Landmark. Mid retired from R.C. Poling Co. as a bookkeeper. Mid was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville, where she was a member of Thornville Homemakers, and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking (pumpkin pies), playing cards, her grandchildrens’ sporting events, musical programs and family Sunday night visits. She is survived by her children, Brenda (Tim) O’Keefe, Roger (Traci) Dupler, both of Newark, Linda Dupler of Somerset, Janet (Thad) Cooperrider and Vicki (Rick) Jones, both of Thornville; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Sarai) Dupler, Shaun (Andi) O’Keefe, Sarah (Anton) DelaFuente, Chelsey and Reece Dupler, Kyle and Trevor Jones, and Dylan and Lindsay Cooperrider; four great-grandchildren, Alexa, MaKenna and Fallon Dupler, Sammy Peterson and Peyton O’Keefe. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Dupler; her sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Jack Dupler; her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Bonnie VanSickle; sisters, Ruth and infant Mary Elizabeth VanSickle; a half brother and sister, Perry E. and Lillian VanSickle. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio with Pastor Orrey McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville or to a charity of one’s choice.
