Michael “Mike” Carroll, 70, of Glenford, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Mike leaves a legacy of love, friendship and remarkable achievements. He was surrounded by his loving family and found peace in the Lord’s embrace after a prolonged battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Mike was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on February 1, 1955, and grew up in the Glenford, Ohio area. Fun spirited, ornery, quick witted, full of life, adventurous, never knew a stranger, and always helping others would be descriptive of Mike. He loved reminiscing about playing baseball and softball, watching Ohio State football, college sports, bailing hay and just fellowshipping. (He loved to talk!) Mike attended the Muskingum Co. Career Center and graduated in the Sheridan Class of 1973. He enjoyed owning and operating Mike’s Welding, Carroll Transport Co., and maintaining his small farm. He loved operating equipment, anything from semi-trucks, farm tractors to lawnmowers. His strong Christian roots were established early at Hopewell United Methodist and in the later years attended Tin Cup Ministry, Mt. Perry United Methodist and Maranatha Bible Church. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved Christian parents, Warren “Cubby” and Dortha “Dot” Carroll; son, Shane Carroll; sister, Evelyn Gothard; and nephews, Tyler Mitchell and Levi Cole. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vicki; two stepsons, Michael (Denise) Rowe of Utica and L. Eric (Lisa) Rowe of Zanesville; daughter, Jennifer (Ray) Jenkins; sister, Angelia (Alex) Masters of Newark, Ohio; brother, Larry (Cindy) Carroll of Glenford, Ohio; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Gothard; and several nieces, nephews and close cousins. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Maranatha Bible Church, 5376 St. Rt. 204, Glenford, Ohio, with Pastor Ben Orr officiating, assisted by Rev. John Edwards.
