Mary Lou McKay

Mary Lou McKay, 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She grew up in Somerset, Ohio, where she graduated and was Valedictorian of Holy Trinity Catholic School, and then moved to Lancaster, Ohio with her mother. She married, had two daughters and became a lifelong resident of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Mary Lou worked as an auditor at Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) until she retired. While employed at DSCC she volunteered at Broadleigh Elementary School in Whitehall for several years assisting teachers. She also volunteered for many years serving evening food trays at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She loved traveling visiting friends across the U.S. She enjoyed line-dancing and clogging at the Lancaster Senior Center. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Rexroad and stepfather, L. Paul Rexroad. She is survived by her daughters, Julie and Beth; granddaughters, Courtney and Meagan (Ryan); great granddaughter, Arianna; great grandson, Lucas; and other extended family and friends. A graveside gathering will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Somerset with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse O.P. officiating.
