Mary Camilla (Gordon) Garey

Mary Camilla Garey, 84, of Lancaster is at peace and went with Jesus, at 10:35 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center. Mary was born on September 11, 1940, the daughter of the late Samual Joseph and Florence Marie (Musselman) Gordon. Mary was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother. She was a dedicated and loving wife to Neal Garey for 60 years, until he went to our loving God and Savior on January 2, 2019. She was an amazing caregiver for her mother and many others while working as a home health aide. She was devoted not only to our Lord but also her family, who will remember all the love and joy she brought to our lives. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, Dodie (Lou) Page, Debbie (Nelson) Pipes, Dede (John) McWhorter, Dottie (Jim) McCormick, Dave (Lorna) Garey, Doug (Theresa) Garey, and Diana (Randy) Gatenbee; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday February 2, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Somerset, Ohio, with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse O.P. as celebrant. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A reception to celebrate her life will follow. In lieu of flowers please provide a donation to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Somerset, Ohio, where she was a long-standing member.
