Mary Ruth (Kennedy) Forsythe

Mary Ruth Forsythe, 97, of Rushville, passed away peacefully at 4:35 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Mary was born November 13, 1927, to the late Dewey Sr. and Essie (Snider) Kennedy. She married Paul A. Forsythe in 1947, and they were married for 60 years. Mary had a full life working with Paul on the farm, cooking, sewing, and visiting with friends. She enjoyed traveling and saw much of the world. She was a lifetime member of Oakthorpe Church. She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Ken) Cotterman, Diane Whitley, Paula (James) Starner, Beth (Dave) Stebelton; and was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; one sister; two brothers; two grandchildren; and one son-in-law. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in Oakthorpe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakthorpe Church, 6075 Oakthorpe Rd., Thornville, Ohio 43076.
