Mary Ann Adamik, 80, formerly of Somerset, OH, died May 2, 2025, in Zanesville, Ohio, following a lengthy illness. Mary Ann was born on June 11, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Frederick R. While working at the public library in downtown Detroit, she met her future husband, John D. Adamik. They were married on October 15, 1966. In 1977, Mary Ann and John moved their young family to a house with acreage near Somerset. Mary Ann and John would live here until only a few years ago. Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, volunteering at church, and serving as a ‘room mother’ while her kids were in elementary school. She would send out greeting cards for just about every occasion to her family and friends. She loved celebrating holidays and enjoyed decorating the family home for various holidays year-round. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, John D. Adamik, Sr. on March 7, 2025. She was also preceded in death by her only brother, Frederick R. Gerlisky, Jr.; in-laws, Joseph R. Adamik, Sr., Dorothy (Goldberg) Adamik, and Charlie Brewster; a nephew, Scott Brewster; and a grand-nephew, Joseph ‘Jo’ Adamik, III. She is survived by her sons, John D. Adamik, Jr. (Jamie), Chad R. Adamik (Thomas Blake); a grandson, Steven; a granddaughter, Madison; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, and friends. A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
