Marjorie E. "Margie" (Pettit) Allen

Marjorie E. “Margie” Allen, 97, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Altercare of Thornville. Margie was born October 3, 1926, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William George and Mildred L. Stiegler Pettit. She was a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Somerset, later attending Good Hope Lutheran Church. She was a former clerical worker for Ohio Power and was a former member of Somerset O.E.S. where she had served as a past worthy matron. She is survived by three sons, Charles Neil (Judy) Allen of Buckeye Lake, Thomas Edward (Lois) Allen of Barboursville, West Virginia, and Mark Eugene Allen of Michigan; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles W. Allen (1997); son, Stephen W. Allen (1966); and two brothers, Paul E. Pettit and Melvin N. Pettit. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Tom Jacobson officiating.
