Lulu Belle “Lu” Queen, 78, of Otterbein Rd., Rushville, Ohio, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at Genesis Emergency in Somerset. Lu was born January 21, 1942 in Lancaster, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard and Gladys Wolfinger Potts. She was Protestant by faith. Lu was a glass maker at Ray-O-Vac in Lancaster for over 20 years and also worked at Lancaster Glass. She raised her brothers and sister at a young age. Lu loved flowers, knitting, and taking care of other people and children. Lu is survived by a son, Robert A. (Julie) Queen of Glenford; four grandchildren, Brandon and Colt Queen and Abby and Olivia Kerns; a special child, Crystal Kerns; one sister, Mary Potts Miller; three brothers, Ronnie, Donnie and John; half sisters, Sarah and Nancy ; and a daughter-in-law, Amy Queen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Queen (1997) and a son, James I. Queen, Jr. (1991). A private celebration will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Lu’s home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein Cemetery, 116 Mill St., Glenford, Ohio 43739.
