Larry Lee Broceus, 81, of Newark, Ohio, passed away at 7:58 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 at his residence. Larry was born March 4, 1940, in Licking County, the son of the late Herman M. and F. Pearl (Franks) Broceus. He was a 1958 graduate of Lynnwood High School, known as Jacksontown High School to most everyone. He retired after 25 years from Licking Landmark and then went to work for the Licking County Joint Vocational School from 1984 until the present. He loved camping, hunting, and going to auctions. Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Velma R. (Garey) Broceus, whom he married July 23, 1960; three sons, Carey (Tammy) Broceus of Somerset, Terry (Wendy) Broceus of Somerset, and Todd (Monica) Broceus of Thornville; one daughter, Velvet Broceus of Junction City; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Wade, Omie, Jodi, Krista, Shane, Seth, Grant and Amber; 16 great-grandchildren, Maci, Naomi, Levi, Case, Averi, Gus, Audry, Paige, Ryleigh, Graham, Waylen, Evan, Vada, Joey, Zoey and Cloey; and one brother, Donald (Janice) Broceus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Noelle Bankes. A private graveside service will be held.
