Kandis “Candy” Hensley, 77, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Genesis ER in Somerset. Candy was born August 11, 1947, in Chapmanville, West Virginia. She lived a life full of love, resilience, and joy. A devoted mother and grandmother, Candy cherished every moment spent with her family and grandchildren. Her passion for animals and her dedication to working with individuals with special needs reflected her compassionate and nurturing spirit. A lifelong Pittsburg Steelers fan, she brought the same loyalty and enthusiasm to her relationships and community. Candy was independent and brave, facing each obstacle in life as a challenge to overcome. Her personality and unwavering strength made her someone everyone enjoyed being around. She is survived by her loving daughter, Vikki (Mike) Waymire; her brother, Ashland (Irene) Butcher; grandchildren, Andy (Christina) Waymire and Dustin Waymire; and great-grandchildren, Anaya, Carter and Owen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is serving the family.
