Joyce Lynn Sherwood, 75, of Somerset, formerly of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Laurels of Heath. Joyce was born February 3, 1949, in Lancaster, Ohio, the daughter of the late Sidney E. and Norma J. (Dyer) Eads. She was a 1967 graduate of Lancaster High School and a member of New Life Baptist Church in Thornville. She is survived by three daughters, Annette (Benjamin) Peverly of Gordonsville, VA, Cheryl Gillis of Coshocton, and Jennifer (Ron) Akers of Heath; one step-daughter, Stephanie Sherwood; one step-son, Robert (Jennifer) Sherwood; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Carmen (Bob) Ramsey; and a sister-in-law, Karen Eads. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley R. Sherwood, whom she married February 5, 1993; and a brother, Keith Eads (2007). Joyce was cremated at her request.
