Joseph N. Schwartz

Joseph N. Schwartz, 98, of Mt. Perry, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, 2020 following a short illness. Joseph was born on October 16, 1922 to Joseph and Rachel (Nussbaum) Schwartz in Burr Oak, MI. He grew up in Berne, IN and his family was known as the ‘Seps’. On July 22, 1965 he married Lizzie Ann Troyer. To this union were born 9 children; Moses and Susan (Esh) Schwartz, of Frankfort, OH, David and Martha (Esh) Schwartz of Frankfort, OH, Noah Schwartz of Malta, OH, Rachel Schwartz of Malta, OH, Andrew and Michelle (Byler) Schwartz of Frankfort, OH, Barbara Schwartz of the home, Benjamin Schwartz of Topeka, KS, Mary and Lewis Yoder of Florence, CO, Daniel and April (Yoder) Schwartz of Tazewell, VA. In 1983 the family settled in Mt. Perry, OH and joined Calvary Bible Fellowship Church. Joseph was a faithful member and was able to attend services up until the last week before his death. Joseph is survived by his wife of 55 years, 9 children, 23 grand-children, one great-granddaughter; brothers, Peter of Sarasota, FL, Noah of Slanesville, WV; sisters, Katie of Muddy Pond TN, Fannie and Margie of Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by two young brothers, Jacob and Christian; a brother, Dan; and a daughter-in-law, Luella (Schrock) Schwartz-wife of Noah. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 12245 Amish Ridge Rd., Mt. Perry, Ohio where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 25. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
