John Patrick Studer

On February 29, 2020, John Patrick Studer, loving son and husband, passed away unexpectedly, joining our Lord at the age of 31. John was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio, living in Somerset, Ohio, and graduated from Sheridan High School in 2007. He then moved to Dickinson, North Dakota to begin an adventure working for BJ Services/Baker Hughes. On December 30, 2018, he married Amanda Schmidt. He had no children. Pat, or John as he was known in Dickinson, was quick with a quip, had a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh. He was always quick to help others, give his own brand of advice, or sit and quietly listen. He had an almost obsessive passion for guns, loving to hunt, shoot and collect. Pat had the amazing ability to converse on any subject, although he would giggle and say, “I’m sad now, we aren’t talking about guns”. He was a lover of music of all kinds, playing guitar and singing with his family and friends. His kind and compassionate spirit will be sorely missed, but forever in the hearts and minds of those who love him dearly. Ride on to Victory, son. Pat is survived by his loving parents, John T. and Dianna Studer; wife, Amanda Schmidt; brothers, Joseph “Jes” Studer and Shawn Studer; sisters, Nancy Rice and Sara Sowders; grandparents, Harold and Nancy Davis and Joann Studer; uncles, Ed (Debra) Studer, Patrick Studer, and Jeffrey Davis; aunt, Mary (Jerry Weaver) O’Brien; nieces and nephew; and more friends than one can count. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Studer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, P.O.
