John Stephen Crossan, 73, of Somerset, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. John was born July 5, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late John T. and Mildred V. (Patterson) Crossan. A Vietnam War veteran, John was a proud Marine, serving his country for 26 years. As a lifelong carpenter, master tradesman, and beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling, and friend, John provided mentorship, inspiration, guidance, and support to his family and community for all of his days. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughter, Beth; grandchildren, Chris, Allie, Dakota, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Lilian, Angel, and Alyce; mother, Virginia; siblings, Brad, Roger, Marsha and LaDeema. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Fultonham Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58.
