John Robert "Bob" Orr

John Robert “Bob” Orr, 80, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, Ohio following a brief illness. Bob was born in Somerset, Ohio on January 4, 1941 to the late Russell and Marcella (Egan) Orr. In addition to being a loving husband of 54 years to Janet (Curry) Orr, he was an accountant for Sloters Ready Mix of Columbus, a dad to many feline friends through the years and a quiet but loyal friend to many who may remember him from his frequent visits to local establishments such as the American Legion and Snack Bar in Somerset. Bob was preceded in death not only by his parents, but his in-laws, Myron and Fay Curry, a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and John T. VanSickle, and nephew, Jeffrey VanSickle. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janet, his brother, James (Fran) Orr, of Gahanna, Ohio, and multiple nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, observing current COVID 19 precautions.
