John M. Jourdan, 76, of Somerset, Ohio, left his journey of pain and suffering from Polio on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Alter Care of Somerset.
John was born July 28, 1945, in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Robert M. and Betty (Bay) Jourdan. He was a retired Teamster, and his CB Handle was Step-N-Half. He had worked for B&L Motor Freight of Newark, Hampton Transport of Junction City, and Refiners Transport of Heath. John was an Honorary Fireman with the Somerset-Reading Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept, serving as Captain. He was a past member of Somerset Lions Club, and Leo Ryan Squadron 58 Sons of the American Legion. He was a fan of NASCAR and rooted for Jeff Gordon from the beginning of his racing career.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Crystal L. (Miller) Jourdan, whom he married November 22, 1975; his children, John C. Jourdan of Somerset and Chrissondra “Dee Dee” (Deano) Six of New Milford, PA; grandchildren, Alexa Jourdan, Tyler Six, Kadie (Curtiss) VanHoose, Scott (Megan) Six; five great grandchildren; brother, Robert E. (Mary Jo) Jourdan of Lancaster; sister, Sue (Stuart) Martin of Canal Winchester; brother-in-law, Dave Enmen of Londonberry, Ohio; sister-in-law, Kathy Jourdan of Mississippi; and an uncle, Ralph Bay of Lancaster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley (Don) Megahey and Cathy A. Enmen; and brothers, Raymond Jourdan and James R. Jourdan.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A private burial will follow.
