Jean Ann (Forsythe) Bashore, 82, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away at 11:47 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022, at OSU Medical Center. Jean was born October 18, 1939, in Thornville, the daughter of the late John Huston and Lora (Winegardner) Forsythe. She was a graduate of Thornville High School and attended Buckeye Girls State. She worked for Nationwide Insurance Co., then graduated in 1972 from Ohio University, doing her post graduate studies at The Ohio State University. She started her teaching career at Lakewood Local School District and later retired from Northern Local School District. Jean was a member of the Perry County Retired Teachers, and loved her family, farm life, gardening, and flowers. She is survived by her son, Kevin Bashore of Heath; a daughter-in-law, Misty Bashore of Thornville; grandchildren, Matthew (Allison) Bashore, Travis (Kristin) Bashore, Andrea Bashore, Jarrod (Kylie) Bashore, and Austin Bashore; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Janice) Forsythe; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earle Bashore; two sons, Adam and Kristopher Bashore; three brothers, Paul, Robert, and Dale Forsythe; and a sister, Janet Forsythe. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating.
