Jay Patrick “Pat” Greene, 71, of Somerset, passed away at 4:22 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center in Zanesville. Pat was born March 26, 1952, in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of the late Carlos C. and Jesse T. (Dobbins) Greene. He was a 1972 graduate of Sheridan High School. Pat worked for years as a driller in the oil field, as well as a construction worker, tree trimmer, sawmill worker and farmer. Pat loved music and his guitar. He loved life and people. He took care of the famous Ralph Charles and was devoted to helping him keep up his organ from the Lincoln Theater and his love for flying. Pat started attending Wesley Chapel Church in 1954 where he served as a chairman and trustee for many years. He is survived by five children, Melissa Watts of New Lexington, Thomas Nichol of Marysville, Jeramiah Greene of Newark, Jacob Greene of Somerset and Isaac Greene of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Leah, Stephen, Luella, Lillian, Carter, and Lyla; three great-grandchildren, Annie, Jasper, and Jaxon; one sister, Rilla (Gary) Morgan of Marysville; and one brother, Gary (Patricia) Greene of Baltimore, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Greene; two sisters, Diana Harris and Kay Kitchens; and two nieces, Tamra Morgan and Adah Krokonko. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, with Rev.
