Jasper L. Schriner, 70, of Crooksville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Jasper was born March 12, 1954, in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Fred and Ruey (Heistand) Schriner. He retired from the Army, and then around 2000, retired for the second time and spent his time hunting, working on things in his garage, drinking beer, and spending time with family. In 1972, Jasper met Robin in school. They went on to have two sons, Bret and Tina Schriner and Jerome Schriner; grandkids, Shayla Wolfe and children, Storm and Kimberly Schriner and children, Masyn and Echo Schriner and children, Austin and Cheyenne Treadway and children, Legend Schriner and children and Kingston McConaha. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Schriner, Jr. and his sister, Angie Haywood. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his brothers, Junior Schriner, Lee Heistand, Johnny Schriner and George Schriner. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 391 Coonpath Rd., Lancaster, Ohio with Pastor David Helser officiating. Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 will provide graveside military honors.
