Jane Irene (Patterson) Talbot

Jane Irene Talbot, 72, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center. Jane was born June 24, 1949, to the late John and Marjorie (Swick) Patterson. She grew up in New Reading, Ohio and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1967. Jane worked and retired after 33 years at Western Electric/AT&T in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John; one daughter, Bobbi (Rick) Schmeltzer of Pickerington; stepsons, Brian (Dee) Talbot and Tim (Kelly) Talbot; grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Luke and Grace Schmeltzer; Mackenzie (Jerrod) Abel and Logan (Emily) Talbot; Colton, Tyler and Lily Talbot; great-grandchildren, Niles and Nyla Abel and Oakley Talbot; brothers, Scott (Sheila) Patterson, Norman (Dorothy) Patterson, Bob (Barb) Patterson; sister, Judy (Barry) First; sister-in-law, Marsha Patterson; a special nephew, Andy Patterson; special friend, Joyce Gary; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Tom, Bill, Don, Joe and John Patterson; and sisters, Shirley Studer and Norma Molnar. Jane has a large extended family and was a constant in so many of their lives. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always looked forward to and attended every family event. Jane loved and cherished her pets. She was a huge Ohio State fan and would never miss watching a game. Her frequent phone calls to “check in” will be missed by many. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio, and one hour prior to the service which will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with Pastor Dave Helser officiating.
