Jack Miller Obituary

Jack E. Miller, 81, of Junction City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Pickering House. Born April 7, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, Jack was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Miller. Jack grew up in Ohio and graduated from Logan High School, where he was a proud member of the varsity football and baseball teams, a member of the FFA, and the basketball team manager. He attended The Ohio State University for one year before choosing a different path, one that led him to a lifetime of hard work, craftsmanship, and service. Jack was also a proud U.S. Army veteran. Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Connie Miller, of Junction City; his children, Jody (Kevin) Black, Darren (Brittany) Boyer, and Steve (Angela) Boyer; a loving grandfather to Avery (Stanley) Knox of Somerset, Addie and Nick Black of Glenford, DJ (Marissa) Boyer of Junction City, Derek (Amanda) Boyer of Blue Rock, Dana Boyer of Junction City, and Cory Boyer of Lancaster. He was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Cameron, and Haisley Boyer, and Presley and Crew Knox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Miller, whom he held dearly. A true outdoorsman at heart, Jack found his peace and passion in the woods and on the water. He loved hunting elk, fishing the lakes of South Dakota, and especially cherished his time in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a place he held close to his heart. Jack was known throughout the community as a man of rare talent and generosity. A master craftsman in carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing, he used his skills to help countless people over the years. He retired from Casto Property Management after more than 45 years of dedicated service, following earlier work with Buckeye Pipeline. His work ethic, loyalty, and unwavering reliability made him a respected figure to all who knew him. Jack was deeply committed to service and fellowship. He was a 50+ year member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge, a 50+ year member of the Junction City American Legion, a 35-year member of the Aladdin Shrine, and a 37-year member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus. His involvement in these organizations reflected his lifelong dedication to brotherhood, community, and helping others. Those who knew Jack will remember his steady presence, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He touched more lives than he ever realized, and the world is gentler and better because he was here. Jack will be profoundly missed, but the impact of his life will continue to live on in the hearts of those he helped. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at New Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery, 582 Logan St. N., Junction City, Ohio 43748. Food and fellowship will follow at the Junction City American Legion following the service.
