Helen Louise "Tootie" (Walker) Paxton

Helen Louise “Tootie” Paxton, 91, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Altercare of Thornville. Helen was born June 8, 1934, in Somerset, Ohio, the daughter of the late William I. and Joyce (Emmert) Walker. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic School and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She is survived by three daughters, Theresa (Darrell) Swinehart of Galion, Ohio, Patricia (John) Helser of Somerset, and Holly (Chad) Wilson of Somerset; two sons, Kenneth Paxton and Paul (Nancy) Paxton, both of Somerset; 12 grandchildren, Jerrod (Whitney) Swinehart, Jacob (Jenny) Swinehart, Janel Swinehart, Trevor (Haruka) Paxton, Cayle (Heather) Helser, Nate (Andrew) Albright, Seth (Annie) Helser, Rachel (Josh) Tolliver, Andrew (Kylee) Paxton, Elizabeth (Colton) Laney, Kate Wilson and Austin Wilson; 12 great-grandchildren and one due in November; and a sister-in-law, Verna Walker of Somerset. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Thomas Paxton; her brother, William Walker; an infant son; and two grandsons, Christian Wilson and Alex Paxton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic School, 225 South Columbus Street, Somerset, Ohio 43783. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements.
