Heidi M. McGuigan, 52, of Somerset, passed away at 1:18 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care (Morrison House) in Zanesville. Heidi was born July 30, 1971, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Robert F. and Nancy A. (Studer) Shumaker of Somerset. Heidi was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a graduate of Sheridan High School. She loved animals and was a horse groomer by trade. She is survived in addition to her parents by her husband of 24 years, George D. McGuigan of Somerset; one daughter, Sarah McGuigan; two brothers, Steve (Bernadette) Shumaker and Shawn (Kelly) Shumaker; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Shumaker. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. officiating.
