Gregory Lee Shaner, 80, of Somerset, passed away at 7:36 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Central Ohio Hospice at The Ohio State University. Greg was born January 19, 1946, to the late John “Jake” and Eileen (Roberts) Shaner. He had worked as a manager for PMP in Lancaster and had also driven a bus for Northern Local School District. He enjoyed tractor/truck pulling, family, helping anyone in need, and joking. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice M. (Williams) Shaner; children, Tina (Will) DeVault, Kim Shaner, Robin (Troy) Gingerich, and Mike (Tabitha) Shaner; grandkids, Chris, Billy, Brandon, Jacob, Dylan, Landon, Chase, Riley, and Chesney; many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one brother, Joe Shaner. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. as celebrant.
